If you're living with chronic Lyme or tick-borne illness, you've probably heard some version of "your test was negative" while your body kept telling you otherwise.

The bone-deep fatigue, the migrating joint and muscle pain, the brain fog, the night sweats, the symptoms that shift from week to week and never quite add up - and the appointments that end with a shrug.

Maybe no one ever found the tick or the rash. Maybe you were treated once, years ago, and never got back to yourself. We see tick-borne illness for what it is: a real, complex, whole-body condition that standard testing routinely misses.

At Neuroveda Health, chronic infections are a core part of our work, not a diagnosis we dismiss. We take the time, use the right testing, and treat the whole picture - the infection, the co-infections, and everything they've thrown off balance.
Seattle clinic with telehealth options for Washington State residents. We collaborate with your existing primary care, infectious disease, or neurology team.
What is chronic Lyme and tick-borne illness?
Chronic Lyme disease refers to a persistent, often multi-system illness that follows infection with Borrelia bacteria transmitted by ticks - whether or not the original infection was ever caught and treated.
Ticks frequently carry more than one organism, so tick-borne illness often means a cluster of infections and their downstream effects on the immune system, nervous system, and energy metabolism, not a single tidy diagnosis.
That complexity is exactly why tick-borne illness is so often missed. Symptoms overlap with dozens of other conditions, standard antibody tests have real blind spots, and each symptom on its own gets routed to a different specialist. No one connects the dots. That's the part we do differently.
Common signs of chronic Lyme and tick-borne illness
-
Persistent fatigue that rest doesn't fix, and post-exertional crashes after activity
-
Migrating joint pain, muscle aches, or stiffness that moves around the body
-
Brain fog, memory lapses, word-finding trouble, and difficulty concentrating
-
Nerve symptoms: tingling, burning, numbness, shooting pains, or facial nerve weakness
-
Night sweats, chills, air hunger, or unexplained "off" feelings (often pointing to co-infections)
-
Headaches, light and sound sensitivity, and sleep that never feels restorative
-
Heart palpitations, lightheadedness, and blood pressure swings (often overlapping with POTS)
-
Mood changes, anxiety, irritability, or a nervous system that feels stuck on high alert
-
Symptoms that flare and remit in cycles, or that worsened after a tick bite, camping trip, or move

If several of these describe your daily life - especially if they come and go and no one has explained them - you're in the right place.

Tick-borne illness rarely travels alone. We treat the whole cluster.
Ticks are efficient - a single bite can transmit several organisms at once, and chronic infection tends to destabilize the systems around it. Untangling that web is exactly the kind of complexity Neuroveda Health was built for.
Co-infections - Bartonella, Babesia, and Ehrlichia frequently ride along with Borrelia, and each changes the symptom picture and the treatment plan. We test for them directly rather than treating Lyme in isolation.
POTS and dysautonomia - tick-borne illness can dysregulate the autonomic nervous system, producing the racing heart and lightheadedness of POTS. We offer complete in-office autonomic nervous system testing.
ME/CFS and post-viral illness - persistent fatigue and post-exertional malaise often sit at the intersection of infection, immune dysregulation, and mitochondrial dysfunction.
MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome) - chronic infection is a common driver of mast cell overactivity, which layers reactions, flushing, and food intolerance on top of everything else.
Mold illness and CIRS - biotoxin illness from water-damaged buildings creates an inflammatory picture that overlaps with, and worsens, chronic infection. Sorting out how much is tick-borne and how much is mold is central to getting better.
Mitochondrial dysfunction - chronic infection taxes cellular energy production, which helps explain why the fatigue is so profound and why some people plateau mid-recovery.
Most clinics hand each of these to a different specialist. We build one coordinated plan that treats the cluster as what it is: one connected story.
How we diagnose chronic Lyme and tick-borne illness
There is no single perfect test for Lyme, which is exactly why so many patients spend years without answers. Conventional Lyme testing - the ELISA and Western blot - misses a meaningful share of cases and doesn't screen for co-infections at all. A negative result is not a clear result.
Diagnosis takes a clinician who knows tick-borne illness well: someone who reads the whole pattern, orders the right expanded testing, and interprets it in context.

Our evaluation starts the way all care at Neuroveda starts: with a real conversation about your whole history - exposures, timeline, prior treatment, and how your symptoms actually behave. Then we layer in testing strategically.

-
Pattern-based clinical evaluation - mapping your history, exposures, and symptom pattern against the clinical picture of tick-borne illness, because the diagnosis is clinical first and the labs support it
-
Expanded Lyme and co-infection testing - panels for Borrelia species and strains plus co-infections including Bartonella, Babesia, and Ehrlichia, ordered through specialty labs such as IGeneX, Galaxy Diagnostics, and T-Lab when standard testing is negative or equivocal despite a consistent clinical picture
-
Autonomic nervous system (ANS) testing - tilt table, heart rate deep breathing, Valsalva, and QSART - when POTS or dysautonomia is part of the picture
-
Immune, inflammatory, and mitochondrial workup - because finding an organism is the beginning, not the end; we look at how your immune system, inflammation, and cellular energy are responding, drawn from our full specialty testing menu
-
Mold and biotoxin screening - urine mycotoxin testing and MARCONS nasal evaluation when the history points to water-damaged-building exposure layered on top of infection

You don't need to arrive with a diagnosis or a tick you saved in a bag. Figuring out what's driving your illness is our job - together.

Integrative treatment for chronic Lyme and tick-borne illness
Chronic Lyme is treatable - not with a single antibiotic course, but with a layered, personalized plan that addresses the infection and the co-infections, calms the immune and nervous system chaos they create, and rebuilds the energy and resilience the illness has drained.
Our approach blends evidence-based modern medicine with Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine tradition, and because every case is different, every plan is built for yours.
Treat:
addressing the infection and co-infections
-
Provider-directed antimicrobial strategy - carefully sequenced pharmaceutical and botanical antimicrobials, matched to your specific infections and co-infections and to how much your system can tolerate at once
-
Co-infection treatment - because treating Borrelia while missing Bartonella or Babesia is a common reason people stall, we treat the full picture your testing reveals
-
Herbal and Ayurvedic antimicrobial support - time-tested botanical protocols integrated alongside conventional therapy, drawing on Ayurvedic medicine and Chinese herbal medicine
Calm:
quieting the immune and inflammatory storm
-
Immune modulation - addressing the immune dysregulation that keeps symptoms going long after the initial infection
-
Mast cell support - stabilizing overactive mast cells when MCAS is part of your picture, because reactive patients need care that accounts for their reactivity
Restore:
rebuilding energy and drainage
-
Mitochondrial and nutrient support - targeted repletion and IV therapy to rebuild the cellular energy chronic infection depletes
-
Detoxification and drainage support - supporting the body's clearance pathways so treatment doesn't overwhelm the system, drawing on Ayurvedic detox and cleansing therapies
-
Gut restoration - repairing the gut and microbiome, both to steady the immune system and to recover from long or repeated antimicrobial treatment
Regulate:
calming a nervous system stuck on defense
Chronic infection keeps the nervous system locked in a threat state, and that state feeds pain, insomnia, and reactivity. Breaking the loop is central to lasting recovery.

-
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) - a non-invasive auditory intervention that improves vagal tone, emotional regulation, and resilience
-
Fascial Counterstrain - a gentle, non-forceful manual therapy well suited to sensitive, pain-heavy bodies, supporting circulation and lymphatic drainage
-
Nervous system and limbic support - vagal and breath-based practices to downshift the threat response and help the whole plan work
Care from people who take chronic infection seriously.
Chronic Lyme and tick-borne illness care at Neuroveda is anchored by providers who treat complex chronic infection every day - and who understand how exhausting it is to be sick without a clear answer.

Frequently asked questions about chronic Lyme and tick-borne illness
Can chronic Lyme disease be treated even if my test was negative?

Yes. Conventional Lyme testing (the ELISA and Western blot) misses a meaningful share of cases and doesn't screen for co-infections, so a negative result does not rule out tick-borne illness. We diagnose clinically first - based on your history, exposures, and symptom pattern - and use expanded specialty testing to add detail. Many of our patients arrive with years of "normal" Lyme tests behind them.

What are Lyme co-infections, and why do they matter?

Ticks often carry more than one organism, so a single bite can transmit Borrelia (Lyme) along with co-infections such as Bartonella, Babesia, or Ehrlichia. Each co-infection has its own symptom pattern and its own treatment, and treating Lyme while missing a co-infection is one of the most common reasons people don't fully recover. That's why we test for and treat the whole picture.

How is chronic Lyme disease diagnosed?

Chronic Lyme is diagnosed clinically, by a provider who maps your history, exposures, and multi-system symptoms against the picture of tick-borne illness, then supports that assessment with expanded testing. We use specialty labs such as IGeneX, Galaxy Diagnostics, and T-Lab for Borrelia species and co-infections, and we evaluate the immune, autonomic, and mitochondrial systems the infection affects.

Do you treat Lyme with antibiotics or natural medicine?

Both, matched to you. Our providers use a provider-directed strategy that can combine pharmaceutical and botanical antimicrobials, sequenced according to your specific infections and how much your system tolerates at once. Because we're an integrative clinic, we can draw on conventional medicine, Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal medicine, mitochondrial and immune support, and nervous system care in one coordinated plan.

Do chronic Lyme, MCAS, and POTS go together?

Often, yes. Chronic infection is a common driver of mast cell activation (MCAS) and can dysregulate the autonomic nervous system, producing POTS and dysautonomia. We evaluate for all of it - including complete in-office autonomic testing - and treat the cluster together rather than sending each piece to a different specialist.

Can chronic Lyme be cured?

Many patients improve dramatically and get their lives back, though "cure" isn't always the right word for a complex chronic illness. The goal is to clear or quiet the infections, resolve the co-infections, calm the immune and nervous system dysregulation they caused, and rebuild your energy and resilience so you can function again. What that looks like is different for every person, and we're honest with you about it along the way.

Do I need a diagnosis before booking?

No. Many of our patients come to us suspecting tick-borne illness without a formal diagnosis, or with symptoms nobody has explained. Evaluation is part of what we do. If you already have a diagnosis, we'll build on it rather than starting over, and we're glad to work alongside your existing providers.

Do you offer telehealth for Lyme care?

Yes. We're licensed to treat patients located in Washington State, with telehealth available pending provider availability. In-office services like autonomic testing, IV therapy, and in-clinic blood draws take place at our Seattle clinic, and many patients combine periodic in-person visits with telehealth follow-up.

Will insurance cover my care?

Neuroveda is a direct-pay clinic; we provide Superbills and billing codes so you can seek reimbursement from your insurer. Some conventional lab work may be covered, while specialty tick-borne and co-infection panels are generally cash-pay. We keep pricing transparent so you can plan ahead; provider rates are listed on each provider's page.
