Treatment Philosophy

First and foremost, I do my best to make sure you feel seen, heard, understood, supported, and nurtured. As a healing partner, using the Ayurvedic framework, empathy, and intuition as my guides, I help you understand your innate, unique constitution (strengths, challenges, tendencies, etc.) and identify simple, realistic ways you can maintain or regain a balanced constitution, which is essential to managing or preventing disease, and navigating life with more ease and joy.

I help you understand your body’s messages/symptoms and respond with appropriate, realistic remedies. Over time you will learn what foods, movement, breathing practices, lifestyle adjustments, herbs, and/or daily and seasonal rituals will bring you back to balance as you ebb and flow through life. Ultimately, with this knowledge, I teach you how to become your own healer, and along the way a deeper connection is often forged with individual and Universal Nature.

Biography

Jennifer (she/her) is an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Licensed Massage Therapist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology from Virginia Tech, then earned her Master of Science degree in Ayurvedic Sciences from Bastyr University. The master’s curriculum included 1.5 years of clinical experience and an externship at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic Hospital and College in Paprola, India.

While she was trained to address a wide range of issues, Jennifer is particularly interested in using the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda to address the nervous system and the gut, where most imbalance and disease begin. Having used Ayurveda to help restore her own health and vitality following a serious GI infection, she was inspired to help others build and maintain their TRUE HEALTH in order to prevent or manage disease. Ayurveda views health in a beautifully rich and holistic way, including being “seated or situated in the Self.” When a person is truly healthy (balanced body, mind, and spirit), they can navigate life with more ease and joy. Jennifer believes that this balance creates the clarity we each need to become fully and beautifully actualized within ourselves and our communities. Ultimately, the entire world benefits when individuals seek this dynamic balance.

Jennifer owes her beloved teachers endless thanks for the invaluable wisdom, time, and energy they were so eager to share. They each continue to inspire her in how to be an effective practitioner of the healing arts, as well as an empathic, loving human being on this sacred Earth, which, in her opinion, are one in the same. Offering immense gratitude to Dr. Vasant Lad, Jiwan Shakti, Dr. Bill Dean, Dr. Brigid Lunder, K. P. Khalsa, Dr. Dhaval Dhru, and Teri Hallmark.
