Seattle Fascial Counterstrain

Sofi Paco-Williams, LMFTA, MA Psyc, LMT,  provides this increasingly popular hands-on therapy that works with your body’s natural healing reflexes to release deep tension.

When pain lingers, tension won’t let go, or trauma seems to echo through your body—there’s often more going on beneath the surface than we realize. Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) is a gentle, hands-on therapy that works with your body’s natural reflexes to release deep, protective tension patterns—without force, without pushing, and without re-triggering your system.

At Neuroveda Health, Sofi offers Fascial Counterstrain as part of a trauma-informed, integrative healing path that respects both the physical and emotional layers of your experience.

What is Fascial Counterstrain?

Fascial Counterstrain is a neuro-fascial therapy that targets very specific dysfunctions within your body’s soft tissue systems—muscles, fascia, nerves, arteries, veins, organs, and even the lymphatic and autonomic systems. These tissues can get “stuck” in reflexive spasm or protective holding after injury, surgery, stress, or trauma.

FCS uses gentle positioning and subtle, sustained compression to release those tension patterns and restore balance to the nervous system. It’s not a stretch or massage. It’s a quiet, non-invasive method that helps your body let go of what it’s been gripping—sometimes for years.

What does a session feel like?

Sofi begins each session by listening closely to your body’s cues—palpating for very subtle tension patterns or "protective reflexes." She then guides your body into specific positions that allow the nervous system to reset, like finding the exact puzzle piece your body has been searching for.

Sessions are quiet, nurturing, and surprisingly powerful.

Many people leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and more connected to their body’s natural rhythm. You might notice less pain, clearer thinking, better sleep—or just a sense of relief you didn’t know you needed.

Why Sofi?
