Bio, Experience, and Treatment Philosophy

Sofi Paco-Williams is a licensed mental health professional and medical massage therapist specializing in trauma care, systemic therapy, and integrative mind-body healing. With over 20 years of experience supporting children and adults from diverse and often traumatic backgrounds, she brings a warm, intuitive presence and a deep respect for each person's story. Her work is rooted in trauma-informed care, emphasizing safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment.

Sofi takes a holistic approach to healing that honors the emotional, physical, and spiritual complexities of each client. She combines her background in psychology, marriage and family dynamics, human development, anatomy, and somatic bodywork to offer comprehensive, personalized care. Her therapeutic approach integrates Fascial Counterstrain (FCS), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Bowen Theory, alongside mindfulness, breathwork, and CBT-, ACT-, and DBT-informed talk therapies.

Having personally navigated the effects of multiple concussions and trauma, Sofi used FCS, experiential therapies, and somatic interventions to help restore her own health and cognitive function. That lived experience now fuels her passion to support others facing similar challenges. She believes trauma touches every aspect of our being-mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual-and views healing as a systemic process that considers the full biopsychosocialsexualspiritual context of each individual's life.

Sofi also has a strong interest in the HPA-HPG axis and its role in stress-related dysfunctions. She is particularly attuned to conditions like chronic pain, autoimmune and inflammatory issues, and mood and anxiety disorders-many of which show up in both mental health and medical settings. She draws on evidence-based tools to guide her trauma-informed approach and believes that early support, emotional safety, and effective coping skills can help prevent long-term health consequences for individuals and families alike.

Sofi holds a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, an M.A. in Psychology from the University of San Carlos, and an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University, where she is also completing her Medical Family Therapy Certification. She has additional training through the WWAMI Certification from the University of Washington School of Medicine, and bodywork certifications in Medical Massage, Intraoral and Craniosacral Therapy, with advanced training in Fascial Counterstrain. She also studied Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University for 2.5 years.

Currently, Sofi is available for Fascial Counterstrain sessions and will begin offering counseling and somatic bodywork this fall. Whether working with grief, anxiety, trauma, chronic health issues, or life transitions, she is committed to creating a nurturing, evidence-informed space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal.
